September 16 and 17 will always be remembered, I met two of the coolest people in the northwest, on the 16 i got to see Damien Jurado and on the 17 i saw David Bazan.
Everything happened to fast, with no plans at all i check, with the help of a friend, flights to Seattle, there was a ticket for 328 dollars, so i decided to do it, all this happened a week before departure, so it was very quick. In the back of my head i wanted to check a show by any of these guys, but when i did, they were no playing seattle, but when i got to seattle i was told that my friend phil was having an art opening and it was going to be followed by a David Bazan performance, i got very excited.
a week before that i went to Portland to visit an old friend, Jesse, I was walking downtown Portland when i saw a poster that Damien Jurado was playing on the 16, it was part of a festival, so i didnt know if there were any tickets available, so i decided to head down to the place where it was going to be the show, they told me that you pay at the door, i went there early to make sure that i get a ticket, when i saw Damien Jurado hanging out outside the venue, after a briefly introduction i ask if he would mind a picture, he say sure his wife took it. To make a long story short It was great, he's such a cool guy.
next morning i took a train back to seattle, so i did and got ready for Bazan. the show was awesome, too. he was very nice when i talk to him, and of course i got my picture taken with him too.
Funny Fact: they both are Mexican descendants, so i guess these days is cool to be Mexican, i never realized that but when you think about it, Jurado and Bazan sound very spanish
